News Update for 9/16/22

There will be a bit of a traffic snarl in downtown Lake Placid today- it’s time for the LPHS Homecoming parade. The processional kicks off around 9am. The route will go from Green Dragon Way east along Interlake Blvd.
Motorists should make adjustments by leaving a bit early or taking an alternate route to prevent delays. Both Lake Placid Police and the Sheriff’s deputies will be along the route to assist with safety and traffic control

A Disney employee is one of 13 men facing charges after an online child sex sting in Polk County. Sheriff Grady Judd yesterday announced the results of Operation Cyber Guardian Two.
Judd says eight suspects went to a meeting place to have sex with a child, and the other five interacted with the children online. All the children, though, were undercover detectives.
One suspect is Winter Garden’s Kevin Sanders. He was arrested last week at Disney where he worked for 16 years. The 42-year-old is also a husband and father of two.
