News Update for 6/6/22
The first tropical storm of the season came and went this weekend with no appreciable damage locally. The storm originated in the Pacific as “Agatha,” but was re-named “Alex” when it became an Atlantic weather event.
No flood or other damage was reported from the storm – although several inches of rain were recoded as the big storm rumbled through Highlands county.
Residents are reminded that we ARE in the 2022 Hurricane Season, and the tax holiday is on through Friday for those stocking up on hurricane supplies.
The Sun “N Lake Subway because a drive-in over the weekend when a car crashed through the front window of the place. Witnesses say nobody was seriously injured.
It appears the driver got the gas pedal and brake pedal mixed up. The car jumped the curb and crashed into the building. Reportedly. the restaurant still is operational.
