A delivery man is a Highlands County woman’s guardian angel. That’s how Avon Park’s Nancy Reyburn describes Jose Sanchez, who came to her rescue on Tuesday.
The 78-year-old Reyburn was locked out of her home at the Crystal Lake Club, and when she tried to get in through a window, she got stuck. She couldn’t move for five hours, but when she saw Sanchez driving by to make a delivery, she screamed to get his attention, and it worked.
Sanchez says he never heard an 80-year-old lady scream so loud. He stopped, called 911 and stayed with Reyburn ’til help came. She says she believes people are put in a place for a reason, and that morning, Sanchez was put there to help her.
