A new report by the firm Stressa shows that the median rent in the Avon Park-Sebring metro area has grown by nearly 13-percent in the past two years. The median rent in the now is said to be $1,048 per month here. That’s up from an average monthly charge of $929 back in 2019.
The 12.8-percent hike is slightly above the national figures of a 12.5-percent increase. Nevertheless, renters nationally are paying $1,445 a month for accommodations.

A Wauchula junior high school student has been arrested for allegedly threatening to commit a mass shooting. The youngster was picked up after Hardee County Sheriff’s deputies received a photo off of social media showing a handgun and two magazines with a caption that read, “I’m shoot the whole school tomorrow.”
The student was quickly identified, arrested, and was transported to the Department of Juvenile Justice.
