News Update for 12/12/22

The festive holiday season continues tonight in the City of Charm with Christmas in the Park. Sponsored by the Avon Park Chamber of Commerce, the event will feature performances of Christmas Music by the Avon and Memorial elementary school choirs as well as the Avon Park Middle School and High School ensembles.
There also will be performances by the Sweet Adelines, the Heartland Pops Clarinet Ensemble and the Avon Park High School Grenadier Band.
It all gets underway at 6:00 this evening in Donaldson Park.

Avon Park city council members will meet tonight in regular session. Among other things they’ll look at purchasing water meters and a new fire truck. In other action, they’ll discuss a number of events planned for next year including a Three Kings celebration, a Fusion Festival and a Big Time Wrestling event.
Prior to this evening’s event, the council will sit as the city’s Community Redevelopment Board. They’ll talk about downtown parking and discuss a Spring-A-Palooza event with representatives of Heartland Helping Hands.
