In the wake of Florida FEMA official Marn’i Washington telling relief workers to bypass Lake Placid Homes where pro trump signs and flags were displayed after Hurricane Milton, Highlands County and the Federal Emergency Management Agency will team up to revisit more than 3000 homes in the area to ensure residents receive disaster assistance. Washington was promptly fired for her statements after officials said that she violated the organization’s standards of conduct. FEMA Canvassers will be in Tropical Harbor Estates starting today and throughout the rest of the week, where they plan on revisiting some 410 homes. The Tropical Harbor Community experienced an F-2 tornado during Hurricane Milton that caused significant damage. Management staff from both FEMA and Highlands County have expressed that regardless of political views, their goals are to make sure that every resident is served equally and receives fair access to assistance available.

It was a busy day for SpaceX, as later it launched a second a Falcon 9 rocket into space — this one carrying another batch of Starlink satellites into orbit.
